WHEATSTONE LNG PROJECT — EMISSIONS
      323. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the Minister for Environment:
      (1) Will the minister provide an update on the Environmental Protection Authority's review of the annual greenhouse gas emissions reporting by Chevron at its Wheatstone project, including when the review is expected to be completed?
      (2) Has Chevron reported to government on the greenhouse gas emissions from Wheatstone since operations began?
(3) If yes to (2), will the minister please table the report?
(4) If no to (2), why not?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question.
      (1) The Environmental Protection Authority is still undertaking the review and expects to complete it during the fourth quarter of 2018.
(2) No.
(3) Not applicable.
      (4) The Wheatstone project only achieved the first shipment of liquefied natural gas in October 2017. Greenhouse gas emissions since 31 August 2017 will be provided to government in the 2018 annual compliance report, which is due on 30 November 2018 in accordance with ministerial statement 873.
