Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 79 asked in the Legislative Council on 23 May 2017 by Hon Peter Collier

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

COMMISSION OF INQUIRY — PERTH FREIGHT LINK
      79. Hon PETER COLLIER to the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to the comments the Premier made in the Legislative Assembly in reference to the ministerial briefing note for Main Roads on the Roe 8 contract award and construction approach.
      (1) Which ministers, including the Premier and/or their ministerial staff, have received a copy of the document?
      (2) Have any ministers, including the Premier and/or ministerial staff, passed the document on to anyone else; and, if so, to whom?
      (3) Was the document entered into the TRIM records management system by each ministerial office in (1), including the Premier's office, and on what date; and, if not, why not?
(4) Who handed the Premier the document he was holding in the chamber?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) As the Premier stated in the other place last week, the document was not received by anyone. It was left in a ministerial office. This document was subsequently provided to the media in the spirit of openness and transparency.
      (3) As the document was a document of, and reflected a decision of, the previous government, there is no obligation of the current government to lodge the document into the TRIM records management system. The Premier trusts that the former government would have complied with its record‑keeping responsibilities and, as such, a copy would already be on TRIM.
(4) The Premier was handed the document by his staff, who printed it from www.perthnow.com.au.
