PERTH CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL — LEAD CONTAMINATION
358. Hon PETER COLLIER to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the government's decision to take practical completion of Perth Children's Hospital
.
(1) Since taking practical completion, how much has been spent on the program of injecting polyphosphate into the water in order to inhibit lead leaching and dezincification?
(2) How much has been spent on water consumption at the hospital as a result of ongoing flushing of the water supply?
Hon ALANNA CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) I am advised by the Department of Finance that the information requested is unable to be provided in the time allocated and I therefore ask the honourable member to place this question on notice.
(2) I am advised by the Department of Health that since practical completion the water consumption at Perth Children's Hospital has been $708 per day.
