      91. Hon CHARLES SMITH to the Minister for Education and Training:
Can the minister advise how many critical incident reports have been submitted to the Department of Education over the past 12 months?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
The online incident notification system captures all critical incident reports from schools. The nature of the incidents varies from more minor, for example, disruptive conduct, to more serious, for examp1e, physical assault. The online incident notification system forms part of a coordinated response to managing emergencies and incidents that trigger responses and processes within regional and central office work groups. A notifiable incident is an event, actual or imminent, that directly affects the health and wellbeing of students or staff, or the integrity of the school. There have been 7 651 critical incident reports submitted over the 12 months from 14 March 2017 to 14 March 2018.
