PORTS — FEES
      268. Hon JACQUI BOYDELL to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to an article in today's The West Australian in which the Minister for Transport outlined the percentage increase in fees for port users across the state.
      (1) Can the minister advise the house of all current port charges for Western Australian ports?
      (2) What does each of these increases represent in dollar terms?
      (3) Will the minister table modelling provided to government on these increases?
      (4) Will the minister provide a breakdown of the impact of these increases on each industry using Western Australian ports?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following information has been provided by the Minister for Transport.
      (1) Given that this question requires the sourcing of detailed information, I ask the honourable member places this question on notice.
      (2) Over the forward estimates, the 17 per cent increase in shipping fees at the ports of Port Hedland and Dampier will generate about $95 million in revenue.
