Question

(1) What is the current total head count of the Western Australian Government Senior Executive Service?
(2) What was the total head count of the Western Australian Government Senior Executive as at 30 June in each of the following years:
(a) 2016;
(b) 2017;
(c) 2018; and
(d) 2019?
(3) How many FTE employees are there currently in the Western Australian Government Senior Executive Service?
(4) How many FTE employees were there in the Western Australian Government Senior Executive Service as at 30 June in each of the following years:
(a) 2016;
(b) 2017;
(c) 2018; and
(d) 2019?
(5) What was the total remuneration expenditure for the Western Australian Senior Executive Service for each of the following financial years:
(a) 2016-17;
(b) 2017-18;
(c) 2018-19; and
(d) 2019-20?
(6) How much has been paid in redundancy payments to departing Western Australian Senior Executive Service members since March 2017?
(7) How much has been paid in total termination payments to departing Western Australian Senior Executive Service members since March 2017

(1)   403 headcount as at 19 October 2020.

 

(2)   As at the end of June:

(a)   2016 – 492 headcount

(b)   2017 – 507 headcount

(c)   2018 – 383 headcount

(d)   2019 – 383 headcount

 

(3) - (4) There is no reliable data on FTE for the SES.

 

(5)   The Public Sector Commission does not hold information on the total remuneration expenditure for the SES.

 

(6)   Under the Public Sector Management Act 1994 there is no provision for redundancy payments for SES officers.

 

(7)   Compensation payments for early termination in the SES are dealt with under section 59 of the Act.

73 SES officers accepted compensation payments in accordance with section 59 of the Act. The total cost of the compensation payments was $15,086,832.
