Question
I refer to the detention of
children less than 14 years of age in the calendar year 2020, and I ask:
(a) how
many such children were detained;
(b) how many such children were serving a period of
detention arising from a sentence following a conviction;
(c) further to (b), what were the charges that
resulted in the conviction and consequential sentence; and
(d) what was the longest continuous period of time
that such a child was detained without a conviction?
