Question Without Notice No. 737 asked in the Legislative Council on 1 November 2017 by Hon Michael Mischin
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE — WESTRALIA SQUARE ACCOMMODATION
737. Hon MICHAEL MISCHIN to the minister representing the Minister for Finance:
I refer to state government accommodation at Westralia Square.
(1) Are any officers of the former Department of Corrective Services still located in Westralia Square?
(2) If yes to (1), have they been moved or are they to be moved to other premises; and, if so, when, to where will they be relocated, and how much will the relocation cost?
(3) If they have been moved or are to be moved, will the accommodation they are vacating be occupied by any other public servants?
(4) If yes to (3), when, from where will they be relocated, and how much will the relocation cost?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Yes.
(2)–(3) The Department of Finance is working with agencies affected by recent machinery-of-government changes, including the former Department of Corrective Services—now the Department of Justice—to accommodate them in existing leased and owned accommodation with a view to reducing office accommodation costs across the sector. Details of any moves and the associated costs are not known at present.
(4) Not applicable.
