Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 1292 asked in the Legislative Council on 12 November 2020 by Hon Jacqui Boydell

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

WESTERN POWER — MOGUMBER BUSHFIRE

1292. Hon JACQUI BOYDELL to the minister representing the Minister for Energy:

This question is asked also on behalf of Hon Martin Aldridge, who is absent on urgent parliamentary business.

I refer to Legislative Council question on notice 3202, regarding Western Power pole number MG269.

(1) What is the definition of an ''intermediate pole''?

(2) When was the pole last inspected?

(3) What type of inspection was carried out, and please table a copy of the inspection report?

(4) Were photographs taken of the pole at the time of the inspection; and, if so, please table the photographs?

(5) What action, if any, was taken arising from the inspection?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for Energy.

(1) Western Power defines an ''intermediate pole'' as a mid-span pole; that is, a pole that is neither the first nor the last pole on a line.

(2) Pole MG269 had a full inspection in 2016 and a visual inspection in 2018. These inspections are in line with Western Power's inspection schedule.

(3) I table the attached report.

(4) I table the attached photographs.

(5) Western Power identified no conditions that required remediation.
