Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
          (l) (a)–(e) Statistics on applications received are recorded in aggregate. Applications for the first home owner grant are not broken down by class type.
      (2) Statistics on grants paid have been extracted based on amounts actually paid, as applications by class type are not recorded.
(a)–(b) For classes 1 and 2, 7 637 applicants. Class 1 and 2 eligible transactions paid are not separately available and can be supplied only on an aggregated basis. The payment amount for each class was the same. Class 1 covered the period 9 March to 8 October 2001 and class 2 extended the period to 31 December 2001.
      (c) For class 3, 2 423 applicants.
      (d) For class 4, 16 981 applicants.
      (e) For class 5, 11 689 applicants
      (3) Determining the number of written notices when the applicant was required to repay requires extensive manual examination of records and cannot be provided in the time frame.
