PRIMARY INDUSTRIES AND
REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT —''REPORT ON CONSULTANTS ENGAGED BY
GOVERNMENT'' — CAPABILITY REVIEW
70. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to Legislative Council
question on notice 2390 regarding the ''Provision of DPIRD capability
review, develop capability review evaluation plan, strategic logic and public
value assessment, functional analysis and final report'', asked on 15
August 2019 and again on 30 October 2019.
(1) What was the advice the
minister received from the department on tabling the report?
(2) Does the minister plan to table
the report now, six months after my first request?
(3) If yes to (2), when will the
minister table the report?
(4) If no to (2),
when will the minister satisfy her obligations under section 82 of the
Financial Management Act 2006?
Hon
DARREN WEST replied:
I have the answer here, prepared on
Thursday, 13 February 2020, so it is as of that time. On behalf of the Minister
for Regional Development, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question and give the following response.
(1)–(4) I
thank the member for some notice of the question and I acknowledge the time
taken since he first raised the matter. I received comprehensive advice from
the department earlier this week. In essence, the advice is not to table the report on the basis that it is
cabinet-in-confidence. I have asked the department to prepare a version
with confidential information redacted for my consideration.
