GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS —
LNG SECTOR
945. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the minister representing the Minister for
State Development, Jobs and Trade:
Given
this government's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and
reaching net zero emissions by 2050, will the McGowan government —
(a) assure all Western Australians that it will stop
rising emissions from WA's LNG sector by refusing to participate
in the federal government's gas-led recovery; and
(b) guarantee that no further gas
projects will be approved in the Perth Basin?

The following information has been provided by the Department of Jobs, Tourism,
Science and Innovation.
(a) The Western Australian
government will consider its role in the federal government's gas-led
recovery.
(b) The Western Australian
government will consider gas projects in the Perth Basin as they arise.
