Question Without Notice No. 668 asked in the Legislative Council on 25 June 2019 by Hon Nick Goiran

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

CRIMINAL INJURIES COMPENSATION SCHEME — REVIEW

668. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing the Attorney General:

I refer to the Department of Justice's review of the criminal injuries compensation scheme, which was scheduled for completion by October 2018.

(1) When was the review completed?

(2) Did the Attorney General receive any documents from the department detailing the outcome of the review?

(3) If yes to (2), will the Attorney General table those documents?

Hon SUE ELLERY replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. I note that this question was asked on 11 June, so the answer is correct as at that date.

(1)–(2) The review has been completed by the Department of Justice. The Attorney-General's office has received a draft report and it has been referred to the State Solicitor's Office for review.

(3) The final report will be tabled after the winter recess.
