I refer to the long-awaited water
resources management bill slated for imminent tabling in Parliament.
(1) At what stage is the development
of the water resources management bill?
(2) When is the bill likely to be
tabled in Parliament?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. On behalf of the Minister for Regional Development
representing the Minister for Water, I provide the following answer.
(1) Government has approved drafting
of a water resources management bill.
(2) The bill will
be tabled once drafting is complete. This will depend on the Parliamentary
Counsel's drafting schedule.
