SHENTON PARK REHABILITATION HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENT SITE — BUSHLAND CLEARING
590. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the Lemnos Street bushland, a 3.4-hectare ecological linkage between Underwood Avenue bushland and Shenton Park bushland that forms the western part of the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital redevelopment site known as Montario Quarter.
(1) What planning activities remain to be completed prior to the clearing of 50 per cent of this bushland?
(2) When is it anticipated that clearing will begin?
(3) Will a clearing permit be required prior to the start of this clearing?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) None.
(2) Clearing will commence once the relevant clearing permits are obtained.
(3) Yes, it will.
