NORTHLINK
WA — VEHICLE DAMAGE AND NOISE MONITORING
1211. Hon SIMON O'BRIEN to the minister representing
the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the NorthLink WA project.
(1) Since the project was opened to traffic, how many
claims of compensation has Main Roads or its contractors received
relating to damage caused by —
(a) loose surface
material; and
(b) any other
cause?
(2) How many claims have been
settled and what is the total value of compensation payments?
(3) Will the
minister table the results of the noise monitoring survey that was undertaken
at the end of August; and, if not, why not?
(4) Has the minister or anyone acting on the minister's
behalf been in contact with any of the affected neighbouring residents
since the end of August; and, if so, how many?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the
Minister for Transport.
(1) (a) There
have been 1 273 claims. Of these, 16 incidents occurred in the previous month.
(b) Nil.
(2) There have
been 686 claims settled, with a total value of $589 895.
(3)–(4) The results of the noise monitoring will be made publicly
available once Main Roads has met with the individual landowners to discuss the contents directly. It is
anticipated that this will occur over the next two weeks.
