CITY BEACH SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL SITE
523. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education:
I refer to the answer provided yesterday to question without notice 500 by the minister representing the Minister for Planning, which stated that policy advisers from the office of the Minister for Education attended a meeting with the Town of Cambridge on 19 July 2017.
(1) What was the purpose of the meeting?
(2) Why were the minister's policy advisers in attendance?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
(1)–(2) I thank the member for the question. The question yesterday was not addressed to me, so I did not seek any background information. I heard the question when it was asked in the house yesterday, but I am not in a position to provide the honourable member with any more detail.
Hon Donna Faragher: They were your ministerial staff.
Hon SUE ELLERY: Yes, I know, but I did not go back and seek information about who attended. The question asked yesterday was not directed to me, so there was no reason for me to do so.
Hon Donna Faragher: Don't you know what your staff are doing?
The PRESIDENT: Members, it is not backwards and forwards. It is not a game of tennis. The member has asked the question and the minister is providing a response.
Hon SUE ELLERY: I am happy to go and find out the information that the member is seeking, but I did not seek it yesterday because the question was not asked of me and I had no reason to do so.
