Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 855 asked in the Legislative Council on 19 September 2018 by Hon Tim Clifford

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

TUOHY GARDENS

855. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:

I refer to question without notice 787 regarding Tuohy Gardens in Midland and I would like to seek some further clarification on the response provided.

(1) Why has Tuohy Gardens been fenced off and unused for 17 years?

(2) Will the minister please provide the reasons for the timing of the sale of Tuohy Gardens; and is there a business case or rationale to support this decision?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) Lots 9005 and 9015 Great Eastern Highway in Midland, formerly known as Tuohy Gardens, are fenced to ensure site security and safety.

(2) Under the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority's ''Midland Master Plan'', lots 9005 and 9015 were identified for mixed-use development. The MRA has progressively sold various land parcels over the years and has determined that it is appropriate for this site to be put to market.
