365. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
(1) Does the minister still intend to move Youth Justice Services from the Department of Justice to the Department of Communities?
(2) If yes to (1), why?
(3) If yes to (1), when?
(4) If no to (1), why not?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The Minister for Corrective Services has provided the following answer.
(1) Yes, as per cabinet's decision last year.
(2)–(4) The government is still considering the best way to transition Youth Justice Services. A cabinet submission will be presented for consideration in due course.
