LIQUOR RESTRICTIONS —
KIMBERLEY
967. Hon KEN BASTON to the minister representing the
Minister for Racing and Gaming:
I
refer to the liquor restrictions in Kununurra and Wyndham, including the
restrictions on the sale of packaged liquor introduced on 15 May due to
the COVID-19 pandemic.
(1) Can the
minister please advise whether 72-hour exemptions are available to people who
are unable to purchase regularly and require the ability to make orders in
excess of the restrictions in advance?
(2) If yes, can
the minister please table a list of the exemption eligibility criteria?
Hon
DARREN WEST replied:
On behalf of the Minister for
Regional Development, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for
Racing and Gaming.
(1) No, not under
the current state of emergency conditions. However, a licensee can apply for an
occasional licence free of charge, which will be considered on a case-by-case
basis by the licensing authority to enable a person to pre-order packaged
liquor at least 72 hours in advance of pick-up or delivery.
(2) Not applicable.
