CLIMATE CHANGE POLICY

858. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the Minister for Environment:

I refer to the response given to question without notice 548, asked on 4 June 2019, regarding consultation on the state climate change policy.

(1) Will the minister please table which industry, community and stakeholder groups have been met with to discuss the policy, and —

(a) the dates of each meeting;

(b) the record of attendees for each meeting; and

(c) the minutes of each meeting?

(2) What is the expected completion date of the climate policy's accompanying issues paper?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1)–(2) The director general of the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, along with the climate change unit, has progressed a range of actions. This includes convening an interagency steering group that meets regularly. An issues paper is in development, and we look forward to in due course engaging broadly with the community and industry on the issue of climate change.
