Answered on 23 August 2017

WOMEN'S REFUGES
      453. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence:
I refer to the government's commitment to establish two additional women's refuges.
(1) Which stakeholders have been consulted about the location of these refuges?
(2) Further to (1), has a short list of locations been prepared?
(3) If yes to (2), will the Leader of the House table a copy of the short list?
(4) In which calendar month is each of these refuges planned to be operational?
(5) How many beds will each refuge have?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(5) During the election campaign the McGowan Labor government made a strong commitment to the prevention of family and domestic violence. The government is focused on delivering its commitments and is currently working through the budget process to do so.
Hon Nick Goiran: No, that is the wrong answer, because that is exactly the same answer that you gave me on another question.
Hon SUE ELLERY: What number question is the member referring to?
Hon Nick Goiran: It is C406.
Hon SUE ELLERY: Yes, that is the answer.
