MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT — PORTFOLIOS —
CONTRACTS
660. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the minister representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) What
contracts with a value above $50 million have been awarded by departments or
agencies within the minister's portfolios?
(2) Of the
contracts in (1), which did not go to cabinet for consideration or noting?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON
replied:
(1)–(2)
For Main Roads, over the previous six
months, there was the design and construct of the Kwinana Freeway
northbound widening, Russell Road to Freight Rail; the provision of road
maintenance services and minor capital works for the Pilbara region network;
the provision of road maintenance services and minor capital works for the
goldfields–Esperance region network; and the Mitchell Freeway
southbound widening, Cedric Street to Vincent Street. For the Public Transport
Authority, over the previous six months, there was the radio system replacement
project design–build contract and maintenance contract.
The financial decisions to fund
these projects were considered and taken by cabinet as part of the normal
budgetary processes. Consistent with the normal contract award procedure, none
of the selection decisions for the award of the contracts for the
aforementioned projects were submitted to cabinet for consideration or noting.
This was the process under the previous government.
