CORONAVIRUS —
SCHOOL BUS SERVICES
311. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the ongoing impacts of
COVID-19 and the announcement by the Minister for Education and Training that
schools will officially close on Friday, 3 April, but will remain open for
supervision purposes only for the week starting Monday, 6 April.
(1) Will school bus services
continue to operate as per normal until Friday, 9 April?
(2) If no to (1),
what arrangements has the minister implemented for those families whose
children will continue to attend school until Friday, 9 April?
(3) With schools
likely to operate differently in term 2, will bus drivers and contractors
continue to be paid according to existing contracts, or will alternative and
adequate remuneration be provided?
