CORONAVIRUS —
POLICE — G2G PASS
794. Hon JAMES HAYWARD to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier:
I refer to the WA government's
border closure policy.
(1) Has the
Premier's office been contacted by Western Australians expressing
concerns about the difficulty of navigating approvals processes to enter the
state?
(2) If yes to
(1), how many constituents have complained to the Premier about the service and
the support that they have received from the WA government?
(3) Does the
Premier plan to improve the service to and support of Western Australians requesting
approvals to enter the state by appointing an officer to case manage requests
from end to end?
(4) If no to (3), why not?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(4) The
Premier's office receives a significant amount of correspondence in
support of the state government's management
of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Western Australia Police Force manage the state's
border controls through the G2G PASS system on the expert advice of the
Chief Health Officer. The Western Australia Police Force regularly assists
travellers to provide relevant information to support their G2G PASS
applications.
