FORRESTFIELD–AIRPORT
LINK
585. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Transport:
I note reliable reports of technical
problems which have been identified during the testing and commissioning phase
of the Forrestfield–Airport Link, and which are likely to further delay
the opening of the line.
(1) What are the
specific problems that have been identified during the testing and
commissioning phase?
(2) When did the minister or her
office become aware of the problems?
(3) What is being done to remediate
the problems?
(4) When might the problems be
rectified?
(5) Is the commencement of driver
training contingent on the resolution of the problems?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(5) It is expected on a project of this magnitude and
complexity that refinements to some pieces of infrastructure would be required during the testing and
commissioning phase. Commissioning of the Forrestfield–Airport
Link continues and driver training has now commenced, marking one of the final
stages of our testing and commissioning phase.
