1111. Hon PETER COLLIER to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
(1) On what date
were the juveniles from Banksia Hill Detention Centre, or BHDC, first
transferred to unit 18, Casuarina Prison?
(2) Since the
date referred to in (1) to today, how many juveniles have been transferred from
BHDC to unit 18, Casuarina Prison?
(3) How many of
the juveniles referred to in (2) have attempted self-harm or suicide since
being transferred to unit 18, Casuarina Prison?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question. The following information is provided to me by the Minister
for Corrective Services.
(1) It was on 20 July 2022.
(2) There were 33 distinct young
people.
(3) The number of
distinct young people who have attempted self-harm or suicide since their first
transfer to unit 18 of Casuarina Prison is in tabular form. I seek leave to
have the response incorporated into Hansard.
