Answered on 12 February 2020

The Department of Education monitors student population growth in all of its schools and plans appropriate responses. The Department uses transportable classrooms to accommodate growth. Responses to long term sustained growth are subject to planning and budget processes.

1)         As at Semester 2, 2019, Kalamunda Senior High School had a total enrolment of 1 154 students.

2)         Kalamunda Senior High School has a total accommodation capacity of 1 182 students.

3)         10 transportable classrooms are currently installed at Kalamunda Senior High School.

4)         The capacity of Kalamunda Senior High School, without transportables, is 957 students.

5)         The Department of Education actively monitors student population growth and residential development to determine if schools are coming under accommodation pressure and require a relieving strategy.
