Parliament: 41 Session: 1

DEBT RECOVERY ARRANGEMENTS

208. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the Minister for Finance:

I refer to all agencies, boards, departments and government trading enterprises.

(1) As of 31 May 2021, which debt collection agencies currently have contractual arrangements with the state government?

(2) Which departments, agencies, boards or GTEs currently have active debt recovery actions with these debt collecting agencies?

(3) For these active debt recoveries, what is the total value of the debt sought to be recovered by each agency, department, board and GTE?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the Leader of the Opposition for some notice of the question.

(1) The debt collection agencies that currently have contractual arrangements with the Department of Finance include Baycorp (WA) Pty Ltd, National Credit Management Ltd, and Dun and Bradstreet. For debt collection agencies that currently have contractual arrangements with other state government agencies, the honourable member will need to put a question on notice to the other relevant ministers.

(2) The honourable member will need to put a question on notice to the other relevant ministers for information for the departments, agencies, boards or GTEs within their portfolio.

(3) For the Department of Finance, the amount being sought is $149 761.93. The honourable member will need to put a question on notice to the other relevant ministers for departments, agencies, boards or GTEs that fall under other portfolios.
