CHILD DEVELOPMENT
SERVICE — OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS
721. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the response provided by
the Department of Health as part of the 2022–23 budget estimates
hearings that references the median wait time of 8.9 months for a child to
access an occupational therapist via the metropolitan Child Development Service. How many children are currently on the
waiting list to access an occupational therapist via the MCDS?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
There are currently 3 739 children
on a waiting list to see an occupational therapist at the metropolitan Child
Development Service as at 18 August 2022. During 2021–22, a total of 32
982 children received services from the Child Development Service.
