Minister for Forestry:
I refer to the Western Australian
government's $50 million just transition plan, initially announced in
September 2021, and increased to $80 million on 13 May 2022, to provide
support to native forestry workers and businesses.
(1) As of 30
August 2022, how much of the $80 million just transition plan has been
acquitted to native forestry businesses?
(2) As of 30
August 2022, how much of the $80 million just transition plan has been acquitted
to native forestry workers?
(3) As of 30 August 2022, what is the remaining balance of
the $80 million just transition plan?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. On behalf of the minister representing the Minister for Forestry, I provide
the following answer.
(1) Nil. Applications for the native forestry business
transition payment close on 28 October 2022.
(2) An amount of $1 134 404 has been paid out to native
forestry workers.
(3) The unspent balance of the $80 million,
as at 30 August 2022, is $78 100 803.
