Question

I refer to Minister MacTiernan’s visit to the Agricultural region on 24 October 2018, and I ask:
(a) will the Minister please provide all briefing notes and advice provided to the Minister or created by the Minister or the Minister’s staff in relation to meetings, functions and other commitments undertaken by her on 24 October 2018;
(b) who accompanied the Minister during the visit and at each meeting, function or other commitments undertaken by her on 24 October 2018;
(c) on what date, at what time and by what means were the following local members of Parliament notified of the Ministers’ visit:
(i) Shane Love MLA;
(ii) Hon Martin Aldridge MLC;
(iii) Hon Colin de Grussa MLC;
(iv) Hon Laurie Graham MLC;
(v) Hon Rick Mazza MLC; and
(vi) Hon Darren West MLC; and
(d) if notification was not provided to local members identified in (c)(i-vi), has the Minister satisfied the requirements of the protocol outlined by the Premier in Legislative Council questions on notice Nos 1170 and 1433?

Answered on 28 November 2018

(a)  see Tabled Paper #

(b)  A Senior Policy Advisor and my Media Advisor attended the Tedera Ministerial Launch and Field Day, and the visit to Yallalie Downs in Dandaragan.

(c) - (d)   Members (i) to (vi) and Hon Jim Chown were invited to the Tedera Field Day via email sent from Dr Mark Sweetingham on 25 September 2018 at 11.48am.  The copy of email sent to the office of the Hon Martin Aldridge is attached, together with the advice of his unavailability.  The invitation sighted in my office on 18 October 2018 clearly indicated it was a Ministerial Launch therefore no further notification of my visit was sent to Members directly by my office.  I am now aware that the version of the invitation sent to the Members offices did not indicate it was a Ministerial Launch.  The visit to Yallalie Downs was by invitation and I did not believe it was necessary to notify Members of this visit.
