GUARDIANSHIP AND
ADMINISTRATION ACT
1280. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Attorney General:
I refer to the Attorney General's
indifference towards his breach of section 110ZZE of the Guardianship and
Administration Act 1990.
(1) Was a project reference group
for the review of part 9E of the act established on 3 August 2021?
(2) Does the
Attorney General have a reliable and unconfused recollection that he informed
the house that a report on that review was to be tabled by no later than 7
April 2022?
(3) Does the
Attorney General, his office or the department have in their possession a report
prepared in accordance with section 110ZZE?
(4) What is the
date of the most recent briefing note or similar document the Attorney General
has received regarding this review?
(5) Will the
Attorney General table the documents referred to in parts (3) and (4) of this
question in order to comply, albeit belatedly, with the Premier's
commitment to gold-standard transparency?
Hon
MATTHEW SWINBOURN replied:
I thank the member for some notice
of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by the Attorney General.
(1)–(3) Yes.
(4) The date was 26 October 2022.
(5) The document
referred to in relation to part (4) of the question is cabinet-in-confidence.
Regarding the report referred to in part
(3), as previously advised, the Attorney General will table the final report as
soon as practicable. The report will provide comprehensive findings and
recommendations in response to the review of part 9E of the Guardianship and
Administration Act 1990.
