CRAIG PEACOCK — POLICE

1373. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the Minister for Police:

I refer to the initial media statement issued by the Western Australia Police Force about Craig Peacock and I quote —

Due to the location of this incident (Japan), as there is no element of the offence having occurred in WA, WA Police Force will not be undertaking further action �

(1) Did the Western Australia Police Force consult with the Director of Public Prosecutions prior to making the decision not to undertake further action, as referred to in the statement?

(2) Did the Western Australia Police Force advise the minister of its decision not to undertake further action prior to making this statement?
