Question
I refer to the review of the Young Offenders Act 1994 initiated by the Department of Corrective Services in December 2016, and I ask:
(a) could the Minister please advise the current status of the review;
(b) when is it anticipated the review will be finalised; and
(c) when is it anticipated the findings of the review will be made public?

The Department of Justice advises:
a. The review is still in progress. The Department has undertaken preliminary analysis of stakeholder feedback in response to the Young Offenders Act 1994 Green Paper.
b. Finalisation of the review will be dependent on the outcome of current Machinery of Government changes impacting Youth Justice Services. No completion timeframe has been set.
