Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 633 asked in the Legislative Council on 21 August 2018 by Hon Diane Evers

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

GREENPATCH DEVELOPMENT — WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT — DALYELLUP

633. Hon DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:

I refer to the proposed Greenpatch Dalyellup subdivision of lots 8019, 9076 and 9105.

(1) Have the odour dispersion modelling studies associated with the Water Corporation's Dalyellup–South Bunbury wastewater treatment plant from 2004 onwards been used to inform planning decisions relating to the proposed Greenpatch subdivision?

(2) If yes, which decisions did the modelling studies influence, and how?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1)–(2) The September 2007 odour modelling for the Bunbury wastewater treatment plant was used to determine special control area 4 in the greater Bunbury region scheme. Any land use planning is required to be consistent with the GBRS. A proposed structure plan for Greenpatch is currently being assessed by the Western Australian Planning Commission. In the structure plan, residential development is guided by the odour modelling and is consistent with SCA4. The structure plan is yet to be determined by the WAPC. At this time, no application has been received for a subdivision in Greenpatch.
