Parliament: 40 Session: 1

COCKBURN–THORNLIE RAIL LINE EXTENSION

1036. Hon MICHAEL MISCHIN to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:

I refer to the Cockburn–Thornlie rail line extension.

(1) What is the expected increase in the annual operating subsidy required by the Public Transport Authority for each year for five years after the completion of the Cockburn–Thornlie rail extension?

(2) What is the expected annual depreciation cost each year for five years after the completion of the Cockburn–Thornlie rail extension?

(3) Will the minister table the business case; and, if not, why not?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following information is provided on behalf of the Minister for Transport.

(1)–(2) The Public Transport Authority is currently reviewing operating parameters for the Thornlie–Cockburn Link.

(3) I table the attached summary project definition plan.
