Question
I
refer to the Aboriginal Education staff positions abolished from district
offices, and I ask:
(a) how
many of these staff were made redundant;
(b) what
was the total cost of any redundancy payouts;
(c) how
many of these staff retired;
(d) what
was the total cost of any retirement payouts;
(e) how
many of these staff were redeployed; and
(f) in relation to (e), where
were they deployed to?
Answered on 26 June 2018
a) No staff were made redundant. 24 accepted voluntary severance. Redundancy is a term usually used in relation to involuntary termination of employment following the six-month redeployment period.
b) Staff in 36 abolished positions were offered voluntary redundancy; 24 accepted at a cost of $3 100 091.30.
c) None.
d) Not applicable.
e) Two have been permanently deployed and ten employees have been temporarily deployed.
f) Staff have been deployed as follows:
- One has been permanently deployed into another position at the Southwest Education Regional Office, Bunbury.
- One has been permanently deployed into another position at central office.
- One has been temporarily deployed into another position at the Midwest Education Regional Office, Geraldton.
- One has been temporarily deployed into another position at the South Metropolitan Education Regional Office, Beaconsfield.
- One has been temporarily deployed at the Wheatbelt Education Regional Office, Northam while a school position is identified.
- One has been temporarily deployed at a remote community school.
- Six have been temporarily deployed at metropolitan schools.
