Question Directed to the: Minister for Environment representing the Minister for Transport; Planning
Parliament: 40 Session: 1

Question

I refer to the Minister's visit to the Agricultural Region on Wednesday, 5 June 2019, and ask:
(a) will the Minister please provide an unredacted copy of the Ministers' itinerary and travel arrangements;
(b) will the Minister please provide all briefing notes and advice provided to the Minister in relation to meetings, functions and other commitments undertaken by the Minister;
(c) who accompanied the Minister during the visit and at each meeting, function or other commitments undertaken by the Minister; and
(d) on what date, at what time and by what means were the following local members of Parliament notified of the Minister’s visit:
(i) Hon Martin Aldridge MLC;
(ii) Hon Colin de Grussa MLC;
(iii) Hon Laurie Graham MLC;
(iv) Hon Rick Mazza MLC;
(v) Hon Darren West MLC;
(vi) Hon Jim Chown MLC; and
(vii) Shane Love MLA?

Answered on 8 August 2019

(a)-(c)

The Minister attended:

8.00am – Inspect NorthLink works at Muchea

9.00am – Inspect Great Northern Highway works at Muchea

11.30am – Opening of Miling Bypass and Pithara realignment works and Announce Shire of Moora Commodity Freight Route project

2.00pm – Meeting with the Shire of Goomalling

3.30pm – Meeting with the Shire of Northam

4.00pm – Launch of the Revitalising Agricultural Region Freight Draft Strategy and Wheatbelt Secondary Freight Route

The Minister was accompanied by: Policy Adviser, Media Adviser, Main Roads representatives, Hon Darren West MLC

(d) Noting that ministers of the former Liberal-National Government routinely did not provide local members this courtesy, it was identified that a process error occurred within the administrative functions of the office which resulted in notification of a Ministerial visit failing to occur.
