HARDSHIP UTILITY GRANT
302. Hon COLIN TINCKNELL to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Community Services:
Can the minister please provide a monthly
breakdown of the following statistics regarding the hardship utility grant
scheme from January 2017 to the present.
(1) How many requests were made for
(2) How many of these HUGS requests
(3) What was the dollar value of the
(4) What is the
value of utility bills that have been written off by utilities providers due to
non-payment of household consumer accounts?
(5) Can the
minister please advise how many bankruptcies have occurred when household
consumer accounts have been included in individuals' statements of
affairs during the bankruptcy and personal insolvency agreements?
The PRESIDENT: Member, I might
say, there is probably a lot of detail required in that response. Sometimes
those types of questions might be better put on notice to allow the relevant
agency enough time to provide that information. I just say that as advice for
