HEMP — INNOVATION BOOSTER GRANT

I refer to the Department of Jobs,
Tourism, Science and Innovation's new industries fund.
(1) Have any hemp or cannabis
projects been funded through this program?
(2) What is the maximum amount that
can be applied for under an innovation grant?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) In July 2022,
I announced the latest round of the innovation booster grants, and one of the
recipients, Hemp Squared, a Bridgetown company, was awarded $19 000 to have
hemp blocks certified for use in social housing.
(2) The maximum
amount that can be applied for under the innovation booster grant is $20 000.
Applications will be open again in 2023 and
I encourage all honourable members to share this with their local electorates.
