CORONAVIRUS —
INTERSTATE AND INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS — EXEMPTIONS
765. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to restrictions placed upon
entry into Western Australia arising from COVID-19.
(1) Please
provide a breakdown of the 6 661 people who were exempt from quarantine since 5
April 2020 based upon data held by police.
(2) How many
applications have been made by Western Australian residents to return to Western
Australia since 5 April 2020 from —
(a) international
applications; and
(b) interstate
applications?
(3) Of those identified in (2), how
many were declined from —
(a) international applications; and
(b) interstate applications?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Police.
The Western Australia Police Force
advises that its system has not been established to capture and collate the
level of detail sought. Further, for police to provide the available
information, it would require the diversion of police resources to manually collate details. If the honourable member places
the question on notice, the Western Australia Police Force will identify
what information can reasonably be provided without detracting from the police
response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
