Answered on 12 February 2020
I am advised:
(a) In 2018-19 $10.26 million was spent on the provision of mental health services in the Midwest/Gascoyne region.
(b) The breakdown of the $10.26 million consists of:
- A total of $9.41 million was provided to WA Country Health Services for the delivery of public mental health services including integrated adult community mental health services, child and adolescent mental health services, suicide prevention activity and workforce training. This funding included $80,000 in non-recurrent initiatives.
- A total of $849,047 was provided to non-government organisations for the provision of a range of mental health services that include staffed residential units, Individualised Community Living Strategy (packages of support), and personalised support for people with mental health problems and for their carers and families.
(c) In 2019- 20 $10.25 million has been allocated to the provision of mental health services in the Midwest/Gascoyne region. The funding allocation for mental health services in the Midwest/Gascoyne region reduced between 2018/19 and 2019/20 due to a decrease in demand.
(d) The breakdown of the $10.25 million consists of:
- A total $9.42 million has been allocated to WA Country Health Services for the delivery of public mental health services including integrated adult community mental health services, child and adolescent mental health services, suicide prevention activity.
- A total of $827,698 will be provided to non-government organisations for a range of mental health services that include staffed residential units, Individualised Community Living Strategy (packages of support), and personalised support for people with mental health problems and for their carers and families.
