Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 757 asked in the Legislative Council on 1 November 2017 by Hon Peter Collier

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT EMPLOYEES — SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES
      757. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:
      (1) How many staff within the minister's portfolio received a salary last financial year that was —
          (a) more than 50 per cent of their base salary; and
                  (b) more than double their base salary?
      (2) What was the base salary, total salary, role and the entitlements, allowances and overtime for each position in (1)?
      (3) Do any of the staff in (1) hold union positions or union membership?
      (4) If yes to (3), which positions do they hold and in what union?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the Leader of the Opposition for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) Due to the level of detail being requested by the member, I ask the member to place these parts of the question on notice.
(3)–(4) The minister does not intend to interrogate departmental staff as to their organisational affiliations. It should be noted that employees who are not members of a union benefit from enterprise bargaining agreements negotiated under the previous government.
