PRINCESS MARGARET HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN — STAFF MORALE
      256. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the concerning findings of the recent review into low morale and poor leadership at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.
      (1) Will the minister table the letter he wrote to the board of the Child and Adolescent Health Service, which he cited in his media statement of 10 June 2017?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Who are the members of the board and what are their respective backgrounds?
      (4) I refer to finding 6 of the report. When did the board first become aware of the dysfunction at the hospital?

I have been advised of the following by the Department of Health.
      (3) The Child and Adolescent Health Service provider board comprises nine board members with a range of experience across the fields of medicine and health care, finance, law, and community and consumer engagement. Please refer to attachment 1 of the tabled paper for further details regarding each member.
      (4) Concerns regarding the conditions, morale and engagement of clinical staff at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children were first raised with the Child and Adolescent Health Service provider board in late 2016. The PMH Clinical Staff Association first raised these concerns with the CAHS provider board in a presentation on 10 November 2016.
