Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 995 asked in the Legislative Council on 18 October 2018 by Hon Peter Collier

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

METRONET — PRIVATE SECTOR REFERENCE GROUP

995. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:

I refer to question on notice 4051, asked on 13 September 2018, and in particular to attempts to avoid conflicts of interest in the Metronet private sector reference group by ensuring that —

all primary representatives on the group are drawn from industry bodies to avoid private organisations or individuals from using it as forum for personal lobbying

(1) Who are the individuals that fill each role in part (a) of the answer?

(2) Do any members of the task force hold positions in private property organisations; and, if so, which individual or individuals, what company do they work for and what is their position in the company?

(3) If yes to (2), is the minister aware of whether any company has interests in any land or property development projects within proximity of existing or future Metronet projects?

(4) If yes to (3), which company and in what land or projects do they have an interest?

(5) If yes to (3), how are these perceived or actual conflicts of interest being managed?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) The individuals are Emma de Jager, Jeremy Cordina, Sandra Brewer, Sadie Davidson, Rachelle Gill, Michael McLean, Steve Kish and Michelle Mackenzie.

(2) Each task force meeting requires that members and attendees declare any potential or actual conflicts of interest. To date, no declarations have been made in relation to positions held in private property organisations.

(3)–(5) Not applicable.
