Parliament: 40 Session: 1

Question

I refer to question without notice 1574 asked on 5 December 2019, and question on notice 2603, answered on 29 November 2019, and I ask:
(a) what would be the saving for the business community and additional annual total cost to the Government of Western Australia, if the initial threshold at which payroll tax applied, was lifted from the 1 January 2021, from the Government's proposed $1 million threshold to:
(i) $1.1 million;
(ii) $1.2 million;
(iii) $1.3 million;
(iv) $1.4 million; and
(v) $1.5 million?

Answered on 16 April 2020

(a) The answers to these questions can be obtained by using the information provided in response to question on notice 2603 referred to above. This response outlined the number of employers liable for payroll tax and the total revenue collected in 2018-19 for different taxable payrolls.

(i) – (v) Not applicable.
