METRONET — ARMADALE RAIL LINE — PERTH–BUNBURY
FASTER RAIL BUSINESS CASE
213. Hon JAMES HAYWARD to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the answer provided by
the minister to question without notice 101.
(1) Has the
minister considered the possibility that the potential route for a fast-train
service from Perth to Bunbury may utilise the Armadale line corridor?
(2) If yes, have
engineering considerations for the fast train been made as part of the Armadale
line works; and, if not, why not?
(3) Has the minister sought advice from Infrastructure
WA in relation to the long-term planning considerations for the Armadale
line?
(4) If yes to (3), will the minister
table the advice; and, if not, why not?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
(1)–(4) As
outlined in answer to the member's previous question without notice,
dated 23 February 2022, the Perth–Bunbury
faster rail business case is ongoing and will consider a range of options.
Infrastructure WA is represented on the project steering committee.
