CHILD
HEALTH APPOINTMENTS — STAND-BY LIST
1244. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I
refer to the stand-by list for appointments with a child health nurse through
the Child and Adolescent Health Service.
(1) How many clients are currently
on the stand-by list?
(2) Of those
referred to in (1), will the minister provide a breakdown of the number of
clients on that list by child health region?
(3) For each child health region,
what is the average time a client remains on a stand-by list?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Clients may
be on a stand-by list for a variety of reasons, including a request to see a specific
clinician, or when seeking an appointment
for a specific time and day. As at 23 November 2022, there are 233 clients
on a stand-by list for a child health check.
The answer to (2) is in tabular
form by child health region and the number of children on stand-by. I seek
leave to have that part of the answer incorporated into Hansard.
[Leave granted for the following material

(3) Average stand-by list data cannot be provided at
this time as this would require a comprehensive retrospective analysis of clients previously on the standby list,
client preference, and when they received their appointment.
