HOSPITALS — EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS — MINISTERIAL TASK FORCE

841. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Health:

I refer to the government's emergency department reform package introduced in May and the promise of the Minister for Health to lead a ministerial task force to implement reforms.

(1) Who are the members of this task force?

(2) How many times has the task force met?

(3) Has the task force set KPIs to measure progress, and —

(a) if yes, what are they and what is the status of each;

(b) if no, why not; and

(c) if no, how will the task force measure progress?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following answer, which I provide on behalf of the Leader of the House, has been provided to me by the Minister for Health.

(1) Ministerial task force members are: chair, Amber-Jade Sanderson, Minister for Health; director general, Department of Health; deputy director general, Department of Health; acting assistant director general, Department of Health; board chair, North Metropolitan Health Service; board chair, South Metropolitan Health Service; board chair, East Metropolitan Health Service; assistant Under Treasurer, strategic policy and evaluation; deputy director general, Department of the Premier and Cabinet; and ministerial staff.

(2) The task force has met five times.

(3) The task force regularly monitors existing KPIs for emergency access, for which data is publicly available.
